Koreans looking in the mirror

Post by James Trotta »

This reminds me of a mirror in the stairwell in building 1 at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, I think it's between the second and third floors. Anyway, first off, a stairwell seems like a strange place to put a mirror. But then you see mirrors in unexpected places in Korea, like the ones right before the stairs in Hwarangdae Station.

Anyhow, for my 5.5 years at HUFS I was surprised daily at all the people who stopped in the middle of the stairwell to check themselves out in the mirror. It seemed ridiculous that anyone would stop for a mirror in the stairwell, but especially ludicrous when guys did it.
