In my birthday party all my friends came to the party empty-handed. I was so angry but late they gave me a surprise gift.

Recently, I met my friend. I was so busy that I forgot her birthday. So, I met her empty-handed and she didn't let it show. Later, however, she was disappointed by forgetting her birthday.

My father and I went fishing last weekend. We tried our best to catch fishes but eventually, we came home empty-handed.
