I don't like people brown-nosing in my life telling me what to do or what not to do.

Nice try! I would suggest that next time, you'll use it in a more complex sentence. Have a great day!

Just because a student talks a lot in a class.. it doesn't mean that he/she is sucking up to the specific teacher/professor..
It could just be in that person's nature to freely talk in class. I don't understand why people seem to be associating an active participant in a classroom to a brown-noser.

Now.. a few days ago, I saw a classmate go up to the professor right after class.. and handed her what looked like a gift of some sort.. possibly some snacks, I don't know..
This.. I don't like..
It's almost like bribing..
Her conversation had nothing to do with the class!
It was just a gesture to gain brownie points with the professor.

This is what brown-nosing is.
Sucking up to a teacher is when you're trying to gain favoritism through your actions..

Participating in class, as you should, is not (and should not be) a form of brown-nosing!!

Students! I urge you to start talking more in class! Conversation is the best way to learn! Ask questions! Question your professors, even!
You're in university to learn! Not to be buddy-buddy with the teachers through sly methods!
What you want is a well-deserved A.. not a gift-wrapped A!!!!
