Yes, you are correct. The more you practice the better you can get, especially if you do not give up. I'm glad you are back and working on it.

Re: Correct Winky
I think "knew" would have been a correct answer for the first one because it is not clear whether the sentence is in present or past tense. It might clear up confusion if the instructions asked for present tense specifically.

Re: Correct Winky
Thanks for the feedback jrod.
"I knew Dobby" could mean that Dobby is dead. When I made the class Dobby was alive. Of course it is possible to talk about an old friend in the past tense even if they are still alive so I agree that the instructions could provide more context.

Re: Correct Winky
Hi there! I think a good learner's dictionary will have the tenses for each verb. I used to have the Oxford Learner's dictionary but I just moved and now I can't find it.
I will start making a few webpages for the verbs I use in the online exercises, but that may take me some time.

I'm not sure I understand the question.
The forum works when you practice using your English. Then you pay attention to my corrections. In this case: How does the forum work?mcpromero wrote:How do the forum work?

Hi, my name is Mary. I am from Peru, but this year I am working in USA so I need to improve my English skills, because sometimes I can not understand what people are saying, they speak too fast for me. It is a pleasure to participate in this forum.
