UFC 127 Penn vs. Fitch (scoring problem) SPOLER ALERT

Post by James Trotta » Wed Mar 02, 2011 3:35 am

For those of you who saw UFC 127 you saw BJ Penn and Jon Fitch battle to become the no.1 contender for a title shot. The judges correctly decided the match was a draw but they were only correct because the UFC has a stupid scoring system. In the current system you can win a round either 10-8 or 10-9. So I gave the first two rounds to BJ Penn, both 10-9. The third round was 10-8 for Fitch resulting in the tie.

The problem is that Penn didn't deserve any points for round 3. In a system where you don't get 8 points just for showing up, Fitch should win that third round 10-0. Then he could win the match which many people think he did based on third round.

Anyone else think the UFC should change it's scoring system?

ufc is very intersting sport. i agree ufc should change scroring system. take down is very high score and punch and kick is low score. player prefer to take down
for example korean fighter kin dong hyun begging he play very dynamic
but recently his play very static .
but i love kim dong hyun why? he is korean and goodbody, strong elbow

what I most like tv program is UFC.

when from at first to last game broadcasts, I have been seeing many games. and I saw penn vs Fitch

I agree your opinion. that system sounds uncommon.

UFC should learn the boxing review system .

we want to see fairness game

UFC have to hand down an impartial judgement.
