about My English Teacher

Post by star71u » Fri Oct 07, 2011 5:09 am

Last year, I registered SDA English institue in Jea Mul Po.
I was level 3 class. My teacher came from South Africa.
Frankly speaking, she was very fat. Anyone could know she was extra overwight.
She said she was almost 100kg. But she did not care a bit. she acted just like an atractive beauty preferably.
Most of all, she seemed to be more confident and full of energy. Then I thought she was a really beautiful lady.
What was interesting, before starting class, there were some students they had taken their places.
She started to wear make up, further more clip her nails and trim them. She even enjoyed. She was humming to herself.
Wow~! Did she have no manners? Actually I don't know until now.

Yes.. I totally agree with you. we are often suprised at their carefree acting and clothing.
but, when is Rome, do as the Romans do... They need to keep Korean etiquette.

Interesting observation. What did you learn from this experience? Did most of the students like her or think she was strange? Do you think Koreans in general have high expectations when it comes to personal appearance? Perhaps she isn't considered overweight in her culture?

I have a question.
Well, I think overweight is not good for everyone's health. I guess she is lazy and she has a weak will.
But, still I am wondering. I don't think there isn't connection between considering overweight and culture.
I agree that most of Korean are more considered overweight than people in some other contries. but, I am still thinking.... overweight shows personal characters.
The behaving at the last part was also showing her personal character, I think. :)
