A Common Language

Post by ICC Seona » Fri Oct 28, 2011 5:27 am

2 billion people will be studying English and about half the world — some 3 billion people — will speak it, and non-native speakers of English now outnumber native speakers 3 to 1. These numerical data are quite surprising. But considering Chinese and Hindi account for over 35 percent of the world population, it is a natural result. Even though they have their own language, they learn and speak English. Also, Korean, Japanese, French, Czech, German etc are spoken English. Nowadays people share a lot of things globally, so common language is needed. English has become the common linguistic denominator and English is a key to success. Sometimes hybrid languages crop up each country. I think it has to speak in its country. Languages have to keep their own style not only English but also the others.
